Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan Tours
Nepal. Tibet and Bhutan in a single trip seems little expensive for many people but this is the best experience of the area. We recommend our potential customers to do the trip in the order of Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan so we have ample time for visa preparation as Chinese embassy in Kathmandu needs original passport to issue visa to enter Tibet from Nepal. The trip includes the major places Kathmandu, all major sightseeing in Lhasa and three different towns of Bhutan.
Highlight of the trip
The trip include visit to the all-important sightseeing places in Kathmandu. We have included in our program the famous durbar squares with myriads of temples which were once an active palaces. The trip also takes to famous Buddhist temples of Kathmandu known as stupas. The monkey temple or Swoyambhunath also considered a best Kathmandu view point as you can see the valley from up there. The biggest Buddhist temple of Boudhanath is characterized by numerous monasteries around the stupa. The tour also goes to a very sacred Hindu temple where they practice open cremation of the dead bodies. The temple of Pashupatinath which is listed in the world heritage site by UNESCO, even the foreigners are not allowed to go inside there is a viewpoint crossing the river so one can observe the temple perfectly.
Tibet considered holy land for all Buddhist people famous for its lakes, the palace of Dalai Lama and beautiful monasteries where once lived thousands of monks to study Buddhist philosophy. Our tour in Tibet includes the icon in Lhasa standing over the hill the Potala palace where one should enter with prior appointments. Potala was not only palace for Dalai Lama and they have another palace in downtown with modern amenities which is now famous by the name Norbulinkha. The heart of all Tibetans where folk of Tibetans doing Kora every morning and evening and also located centrally in Lhasa, the famous Jokhang temple is also of major attraction in tour. As many people just go to Lhasa they don’t get any idea of the holy lakes so we put in our itinerary and extended excursion to the turquoise lake and sacred lake to Tibet popular by the name Yamdrok-tse. The visit to the lake is appreciable as one keep driving outside Lhasa that gives an opportunity to discover unique landscapes of Tibet.
The world’s happiest country Bhutan includes three major towns with their attractions in our itineraries. The only international airport is located in Paro so the visit in Paro includes the famous monument of Bhutan the Tiger’s nest, a short hike of couple of hours to reach there is constructed in rock face is sacred and holy Buddhist shrine. Visit to national museum to discover the history of Bhutan is appreciable. Both Towns, the current capital of Thimpu and ancient capital Punakha has their own proper Dzong which are the major highlights of these towns. The unique architecture of the Dzongs is very fascinating and wonderful to our customers and they even house a monastery inside.
The tour also include scenic flights crossing the Himalayas as it goes from Kathmandu to Lhasa and come back and fly parallel to Himalaya as it goes to Bhutan from Kathmandu and come back. One can take an option flying to Singapore or Bangkok after finishing the trip in Bhutan.
The best time to visit Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan
The trip can be done throughout the year but winter time is very cold in both Tibet and Bhutan so the best months are March to May and September to beginning of December. As July and August it rains quiet a lot in Nepal and Bhutan.
Difficulty level of the trip
The tour actually is a cultural trip but is an active trip as to discover monuments includes walking insides. There is a hike in the trip to go to Taksang(Tiger’s nest) in Bhutan, if there is a problem for this hike one can take a pony ride for part of the hike.
Type of tour
The tour is the cultural tour. This tour is ideal for both individual or for a group. The group tour will be little cheaper than for individuals but we don’t have group all the time if you can form a group on your own please do not hesitate to do that.
Accommodations provided in the tour
Our regular tour goes with three star or equivalent accommodation in all three countries. Paying extra we can upgrade to five star and we can even book you top end hotels in all three countries. The top ends hotels in Bhutan are quiet expensive so please do not hesitate to write to us if you want an upgrade by paying the difference.
Meals during the tour
Normally we give accommodation with breakfast for Nepal and Tibet part and a full board plan for Bhutan part.
