Manaslu Region
The world’s eighth highest mountain Manaslu is located in western part of Nepal. Manaslu stands 8,156 meters above sea level. Mt. Manaslu is located totally inside Nepal. Manaslu area is declared as a conservation area back in 1998 considering the fragile and diverse natural resource and rich cultural environment. Manaslu conservation area covers about 1663 sq. km. is located mainly in Tsumnubri rural municipality of Gorkha district of Nepal. Japanese were the first mountaineers who reached the top of Manaslu. Manaslu trek now a days is a highlight as it is newly open and not spoilt by any factors. Compared to Annapurna and Everest the infrastructures like condition of the lodges, restaurants, trails Manaslu is also very basic which gives an authentic experience of walking in the Himalaya. Budhigandaki river is considered a gateway to enter the Manaslu area.
