Description of the trip

You are picked up in the morning around 9 o’ clock in the hotel by private transport and drive to Budhanilkantha, Budhanilkantha is popular by the name sleeping Vishnu located to the foothill of Shivapuri. This is the only shrine which was forbidden to visit by royal families when Nepal was a kingdom. After visiting this one of the oldest temple drive up to national park entry gate popular by the name Panimuhan. Panimuhan refers the beginning source of the water. From this point the national park starts so the entry tickets are compulsory for everybody. The walk from Panimuhan to Nagigumba passes through dirt road, but as there are very less movement this is one of the nicest and serene walk around Kathmandu valley. One can see different kinds of birds and if you are lucky enough might see other type of animals too. The walk is going up but with very gently. It takes around one and half hour to reach Nagigumba which is very famous Nunnery. The view of Kathmandu from Nagigumba is so pretty one cannot leave the place without gazing upon it. One can see the main monastery hall and talk to the nuns on various aspects of the nunnery. Walk back to the starting point again and drive back to Kathmandu.

The actual entrance fee to the National park is Rs. 1000 per person per entry and wildlife victim relief fund of Rs. 50 per person.

All the foreigners are required to hire a local nature guide whether you have a guide from Kathmandu or not. This is part of the initiative to involve people from the buffer zone and to create opportunities for youths from surrounding area.

There is no restaurants inside the national park when you finish the trip outside the national park there are some small local restaurant otherwise carry a packed lunch or light snacks.
