Besides the base camp if you are making three high passes you get an incredible view of the whole area. Three high pass trekking is challenging and adventurous too. This demanding trek gives you opportunity to observe many of the 8000m peak including Choyu, Lhotse and Makalu besides Everest. This is an ideal trek to observe the Everest from different angles. It totally depends on the weather condition but it does not need any technical climbing.

Difficulty level of the Everest Three High Pass Trek

The Everest Three High Pass Trek is very demanding trek and one must be very fit to complete the trek successfully. Previous exposure to higher elevation is very beneficial. The trek needs significant hours of continuous walking in the higher elevation especially during the days in which the high passes are included. One can suffer from acute mountain sickness or high altitude sickness even from 3,500 meters above sea level. If you develop a symptom of high altitude sickness you stop for few days or go lower elevation and when you find yourself in good condition you can continue. Rescue helicopters are available; make sure your insurance will cover helicopter and medical expense after that. We have 90% success rate for Everest Three High Pass trek. Our motive is to complete your trips successfully; we are not scammers of the helicopters. We do not recommend Everest Three High Pass trek for the people with heart problems, lungs problem, serious asthma, high blood pressure and acute diabetes. Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, a capital city of Nepal located at 1300m above sea level. On your proper time you will be picked up from airport and check in in the hotel where you stay.

Day 02: introductory trip to Kathmandu including sightseeing of One of the old palace complex, popular by the name Patan Durbar square, a Buddhist temple popular by the name monkey temple among the foreigners but is called Swoyambhunath and a Hindu temple Pashupatinath, a popular cremation ground for many hindus of Kathmandu. All these places are listed by UNESCO as world heritages. Afternoon time free for doing trek preparation.

Day 03: early morning flight to Lukla(2800m) and easy 3-4 hours walk to Phakding (2652m) and overnight stay there.

Day 04: A climb uphill to Namchebazar (3440m) with the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way. Might take 5-6 hours with normal walking speed and trail crosses one of the popular river from Everest area.Namchebazar considered a gateway to Everest and one of the populous village of this trekking area. Quiet a variety of shops, guest houses and stores available here.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namchebazar. On this acclimatization day you can go for an excursion trip to Syangboche and Everest View Hotel, have a cup of coffee there and back to Namche and take a rest there.

Day 06: Trek from Namchebazar to Thame(3800m). Normally takes 3-4 hours it’s an easy day for most of the trekkers. Way to Thame offers a beautiful view of Kongderi and from Thame also you can observe many of the snowcapped mountains. Thame is one of the isolated Sherpa village of Everest area. Afternoon free to observe Thame monastery.

Day 07: Trek from Thame to Marlung(4137m). The trek follow the Bhotekoshi upstream and takes around 5-6 hours and stay overnight in guest house there in Marlung.

Day 08: Trek from Marlung to Lungdeng (4600m). This is practically easy day to prepare for the first pass the next day. Takes 3-4 hours and give time to acclimatize so the physiology keep prepare for the elevation next day.

Day 09: Trek from Lungdeng to Renjola(5465m) and descend down to Gokyo (4800m). Very hard day as compared to other days as for the first time you reach this elevation. The views and landscape is stunning that you will remain with your mouth open for many days.

Day 10: Relax and acclimatization day at Gokyo lake. As reward of what you have made you get a total relax in Gokyo Lake. You can go up to fifth lake. These lakes are famous for its turquoise blue color.

Day 11: Hike to Gokyo-Ri (5330m) and trek to Thaknak (4700m). Superb view of Everest region from GokyoRi. After visiting Gokyori it descends to Thaknak and normally takes 6-7 hours the whole journey.

Day12: Trek from Thaknak to Cho La Pass(5420m) and continue to Dzongla(4830m). One of the challenging day of the whole trip as people supposed to make a pass before noon because afternoons are quiet windy and chilly. Carry a packed lunch and from the pass one can see an incredible view of Cholatse and Amadablam.

Day13: Trek from Dzongla to Gorakshep (5140m). Descending a little at the beginning and crossing the river and ascend and continue to join the regular route of Everest base camp little above Thokla. Making a Thokla pass continue to Lobuche and Gorakshep.

Day 14: Early morning hike to Kalapatthar(5550m) and trek to Everest base camp(5350m) and continue trek back to Lobuche(4910m). Kalapatthar is the best Everest view point of the trek where normally people go for sunrise with Everest Himalayan range, come down for breakfast and trek to Everest base camp, probably have some apple pie with tea coffee at base camp walk back to Gorakshep and continue down to Lobuche. The whole trekking might take 8-9 hours so this is one of the busy day roaming around in higher elevation. Consult with your guide for the possible alternatives.

Day 15: Trek from Lobuche to Kongma La pass (5535m) and descend down to Chhukung (4730m). The third and the highest pass of the whole trip has a stunning view of KhumbutseCholatse and Pumori. Crossing the moraines of Khumbu glacier trail ascends until you reach pass. The unbelievable view of Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse and AmaDablam is seen from the pass. Descend down to Chhukung, a small village with few tea houses and a gateway for the people who are climbing Island Peak.

Day 16: Trek from Chhukung to Tyangboche (3860m). 5-6 hours walk down to Tyangboche which has the beautiful monastery. One of the popular Mountain View point including Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Amadablam. Even the peak Thamserku seems like a wall next to you from Tyangboche.

Day17: Trek from Tyangboche to Monjo (2680m). The trail descends at the beginning and ascends again to reach Namchebazar and continue down to Monjo where one can enjoy a real hot shower in Everest Area. 

Day 18: Trek from Monjo toLukla (2800m.), 4-5 hours walk and afternoon free for some rest, confirm your ticket for next morning and overnight stay there.

Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla and afternoon free for doing last minute shopping and if you are interested you can take an optional tour to visit some monuments in Kathmandu.

Day 20: Free day in Kathmandu, rest and relax or do some massage after the strenuous trekking of three high passes.

Day 21: Final departure for your home country. On a proper time transfer to airport for the final departure or another destination or start another trip with us.
