The best experience of Kathmandu valley and surrounding villages which give mixed experience of cultural tour and hikes around Kathmandu. The trip includes all the major monuments in Kathmandu with popular small town and villages.

 A fully guided tour with half of the tour done by popular heritage interpreter or professional tour guide and half of the tour which is hiking part done by trekking guide. An active trip which has day hikes but can be done with few gears as you are staying in the hotels.

An excellent opportunity to see the lifestyle both in city as well as village settings. The trip also covers mountain view points and monastery besides popular places which gives insight to the visitors regarding monastic lifestyles.

As this is a private tour, we are flexible regarding timing and alteration if you are in need. No need to stay in tents or teahouses so luxury is never compromised. An easily upgradable as hotels of high standard are available in most of the location of the trip.

Detailed plan of the trip

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and wander on your own. Our representative pick you up in international airport and take you to your hotel. Rest of the afternoon you can just rest, relax or wander.

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu including Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Kirtipur. Swoyambhunath is the famous Buddhist temple which overlooks Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square is place for king in the past with myriads of temples around the palace complex. Kirtipur is the nicest and quiet town located in the western part of Kathmandu.

Day 03: Sightseeing of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Patan Durbar square. Boudhanath is the biggest Buddhist shrine of Kathmandu with lots of Tibetan settlements around. A shiva temple on the bank of the Bagmati is famous for its open crematorium. Patan durbar square is famous for its old temple and palace complex as well as its intricately carved doors and windows.

Day 04: Sightseeing of Changunarayan and Bhaktapur. The oldest remaining temple of Kathmandu, Changunarayan was originally from 5th century and survived during great earthquakes. Bhaktapur is the medieval town with three different squares of great value.

Day 05: Drive to Sankhu, visit Bajrayogini temple and hike up to Nagarkot. A historic Newar town is famous for its culture and few minutes from there, a temple for Bajrayogini, once was a center for esoteric practices. A nice walk from Sankhu to Nagarkot to see the villages there.

Day 06: Hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel and overnight at Dhulikhel. One of the hardest days of trip as one need to hike around 18 km but pass through many interesting villages.

Day 07: Hike from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha and continue to Panauti, visit Panauti and drive back to Kathmandu for overnight stay. A Newari town which is very quiet and serene and not that big. A hike from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha first goes up hill to Kali temple from where one can see the Panchakhal valley. Namobuddha is holy shrine for Buddhist from different parts of Nepal. Namobuddha monastery is the biggest of the area where there are more than 300 monks living permanently. A nice quiet town of Panauti is of great importance to visitors too. 

Day 08: Departure from Kathmandu.
