The itinerary of Dhulikhel-Namobuddha –Balthali Trek

Day 01: Early morning breakfast in Kathmandu and drive for an hour and half to reach Dhulikhel. Few minutes to discover Dhulikhel, stop for washrooms and tea coffee and start the hike. At the beginning the hike ascends up to Kali temple and descends down to Kavre bhanjyang and again ascends up and passes through ridge with views of the villages on both sides. Finally reach the monastery of Namobuddha and accommodation at monastery. Discover the monastery and monastic life in the evening and next morning.

Day 02: After breakfast, continue hike down by crossing beautiful villages on the way observing typical lifestyle in the village and cross a small river Roshi and ascends to Balthali village and overnight stay at resorts there.

Day 03: Hike up to Khopasi via Shalmitar from the resort and take a transfer back to Kathmandu. Khopasi even is a small interesting Newar town.

The price of the trek

The price depends with accommodation in Balthali and availability of accommodation in the monastery. If monastery accommodation is not available one has to accommodate in small local tea house which are very basic or one has to walk back to Namobuddha resort which is quiet expensive for trekkers. The starting price of this trip is $250 per person on basis of monastery accommodation in Namobuddha and resort in Balthali.

If you are early bird and love to walk extended hours, starting early from Kathmandu you can even complete the hike in one day, all the way to Balthali.
